I’m Just A Proposal (featuring Elliott Fischer)

May 1, 2017

When we saw how many proposals there were for the upcoming WFCA Spring Meeting, we knew we had to dust off our microphones and discuss some of the more intricate proposals being brought to the membership. Will our deliberations save us time at the Spring Meeting? Probably not. Will we offer much-needed context and background information on some of the proposals thanks to special guest, WFCA State Tournament Codirector and Sun Prairie Coach, Elliott Fischer? Definitely.

What You Talkin’ Bout, Judges?

March 27, 2017

Malyssa and Kirt are doing their best to interpret what judges really mean when they use language that is difficult to understand.

Waiter, There’s An Actor In My Speech!

March 20, 2017

We’ve received conflicting thoughts from listeners on the same topic: acting in speech. After debating the difference between acting and interp, has acting crept into speech? Should we outlaw or allow it?

Don Crabtree

March 1, 2017

I mean, what can I even say at this point? We’ve had weeks of wonderful interviews with smart and funny and wise coaches from all over the country. I get something from every conversation and then I get even more when I listen back to our conversations later. This series will be something I revisit again and again as a coach, and I hope you are able to take advantage of these interviews in the same way. Today, we’re sharing our interview with Don Crabtree, who has coached for over four decades and currently serves as President of the National Speech and Debate Association. No further explanation necessary for why Malyssa and I were so excited to speak with him.

Forensics Faces is recorded and edited in Sheboygan, WI. Our theme song was written and performed by JJ Hameister. Special thanks to Steve Schappaugh and Deano Pape of the NSDA for connecting me with the folks featured in this series. If you’re a fan of Forensics Faces, please take a moment to rate and review the podcast on iTunes. The more we’re reviewed, the easier it is for others to find out about us.
